PROCLAMATION

 

IN SUPPORT OF

AIDS WALK FORT LAUDERDALE, APRIL 2007

 

 

 

 

WHEREAS, the City of North Lauderdale supports AIDS Walk Fort Lauderdale which benefits the AIDS Healthcare Foundation and adds its voice to the advocacy movement that is embodied by the over 2,500 expected South Florida participants; and

 

WHEREAS, last year, participants helped to raise more than $362,000 in the fight against AIDS; and

 

WHEREAS, all money raised goes toward the Broward County HIV/AIDS services of the benefiting organizations; and

 

WHEREAS, on this day, all participants from all walks of life are united in the strength to end AIDS; help people with AIDS and HIV, and bring this cause to the attention of the world; and

 

WHEREAS, AIDS Walk Fort Lauderdale begins on April 29, 2007 at Downtown Fort Lauderdale’s Huizenga Plaza, reaches the Atlantic Ocean, and circles back to the Plaza with a closing ceremony and post-walk concert.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, be it known that I, Mayor Jack Brady, do hereby support the AIDS Walk Fort Lauderdale and recognize AIDS Healthcare Foundation for its good works and continued advocacy in South Florida.
