SUBJECT: Surplus/Donation of Computer

Recently, the Information Technology Department replaced the Parks and Recreation Director’s Laptop Computer with a newer model. The old laptop was 9 years old and had some operational issues due to advances in technology over the years.

Since the laptop is still useable – we are seeking to donate the laptop to the Recreation Foundation for their use. By donating this computer, the Foundation will be saving the expense of buying a new computer and these savings can be applied towards other recreational programs. As you may recall, the City created the Foundation as an autonomous unit from the City with the goal of fundraising for Parks and Recreation programs.

Since the Foundation operates separately from the City, we would like to surplus the computer and then donate it to the foundation for their use.

RECOMMENDATION:

The City Administration recommends Commission’s consideration and approval of the following two resolutions:

1. Resolution authorizing the surplus of Dell Laptop PRDIR 1 from the City’s inventory.

2. Resolution authorizing the donation of the Dell Laptop PRDIR1 to the North Lauderdale Recreation Foundation.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF NORTH LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THAT THE EQUIPMENT LISTED BELOW BE DECLARED SURPLUS; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of North Lauderdale, Florida, desires to declare certain property as surplus to the needs of the City as recommended by the City Manager due to the condition of said property.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF NORTH LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA:

Section 1: Authorize the surplus of the following equipment:

Section 2: That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF NORTH LAUDERDALE AUTHORIZING THE DONATION OF A SURPLUS LAPTOP FROM THE CITY TO THE NORTH LAUDERDALE RECREATION FOUNDATION, PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of North Lauderdale, Florida has determined specific computers as surplus; and

WHEREAS, the City intends to donate such equipment to the North Lauderdale Recreation Foundation; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF NORTH LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA, THAT:

Section 1. The City intends to donate the following computer to the North Lauderdale Recreation Foundation:
