Medical Director
As you know, the City’s Fire
Rescue Department also provides medical rescue services to our citizens. These
services shall be provided under the direction of a Medical Director, who is
board certified and recognized as a medical director by the State of
In order to bring a new Medical director on board, Fire Chief Bowman and Division Chief Neumann, the Emergency Medical Services Coordinator, interviewed several candidates to find a competent Medical Director for the City.
During this search, the City Administration and the Public Safety senior staff had the opportunity to meet and interview Dr. Lee for the position of Medical Director for North Lauderdale Fire Rescue Department at various occasions and were all impressed with Dr. Lee’s credentials and experience in emergency medical services direction. Dr. Lee is Board Certified in the specialty of Emergency Medicine. We believe that Dr. Lee would be a great asset to the City.
Dr. Lee assured us that he was
adept in developing our newer paramedics, who have recently entered the
emergency services vocation. Dr. Lee committed
to mentoring them through personal interviews/discussions and quizzing them on
protocols and treatment techniques. Dr.
Lee is a sincere advocate of Constant Quality Improvement of all emergency
medical service members by monitoring for sentinel events and chart review on a
regular basis. He also has extensive
experience in infection control and is very “hands-on” when an

The City Administration recommends Commission’s consideration and approval of the attached resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter into and execute an acceptable Agreement with Dr. H. Wayne Lee to provide Medical Director services to the City of North Lauderdale Fire Rescue Department; at an initial salary in an amount not to exceed $20,000.00.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF NORTH
Section 1: That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into and execute an
acceptable Agreement with Dr. H. Wayne Lee to provide Medical Director’s Services to the City of North Lauderdale’s Fire Rescue Department at an initial salary in an amount not to exceed $20,000.00.
Section 2: That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
