SUBJECT: Declare Equipment Surplus and authorize the Annual Auction Date

Staff is proposing that the attached list of equipment (Exhibit A) to be declared surplus and sold at the City’s annual auction scheduled for June 2, 2007. This list also includes the surplus items from the Parks and Recreation inventory that were approved on May 8, 2007 by the Commission. In addition, the IT department is presenting a list of equipment to be declared surplus tonight as a separate agenda item and those items will also be auctioned on June 2, 2007.

All this equipment has been in the City inventory for years and is either no longer operational or needed to provide City services.

RECOMMENDATION:

1. The Administration recommends Commission’s consideration and approval of the attached resolution declaring the attached list of equipment (Exhibit A) as surplus and authorizing the City Manager or his designee to hold the City’s annual auction on Saturday, June 2, 2007 and auction all items declared surplus on May 8, 2007 and May 29, 2007.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF NORTH LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA, DECLARING THE ATTACHED LIST OF EQUIPMENT (EXHIBIT A) AS SURPLUS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO HOLD THE CITY’S ANNUAL AUCTION ON SATURDAY, JUNE 2, 2007 AND AUCTION ALL ITEMS DECLARED SURPLUS ON MAY 8, 2007 AND MAY 29, 2007; AUTHORIZING AND DESCRIBING THE MANNER OF DISPOSAL OF SAME; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of North Lauderdale, Florida, desires to declare certain property listed in attached Exhibit A as surplus to the needs of the City as recommended by the City Manager due to the condition of said property.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF NORTH LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA:

Section 1: Authorize the City Manager or his designee to hold a City Auction on Saturday, June 2, 2007 for all items declared surplus by the City Commission on May 8, 2007 and May 29, 2007.

Section 2: That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.

PASSED and ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of North Lauderdale, Florida, this 29^th day of May, 2007.
