Subject: Repairs
to the School Air Conditioner
Due to the few strong
storms we have encountered in the last couple of weeks, it appears that one of
the air conditioning units at the school was possibly struck by lightning
causing damage to one of the compressors.
We are in the
process of obtaining repair estimates from various contractors. It seems like
that the cost to make these repairs will be in the $40,000 to $50,000
range. Due to the fact that these
repairs will be done during the Commission summer break and we do not have an
exact estimate or a contract in place, we are requesting the Commission to
authorize the City Manager to spend up to $50,000 to make necessary repairs to
the school facility air conditioner.
Recommendation:
The City
Administration recommends Commission’s consideration and approval to adopt the
attached resolution authorizing the City Manager or designee to spend up to
$50,000 to make the necessary repairs to the school air conditioner.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
Section 1: That the City Commission of the City of North Lauderdale, Florida, be and the same does hereby authorize the expenditure of not more than $50,000.00 to make the necessary repairs to the school air conditioner.
Section 2: That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
