Subject:           Public Hearing for State Revolving Fund (SRF) for Water Plant Capital Improvements

At the City Commission meeting held on March 12, 2008, the Staff made a detailed presentation highlighting the various upcoming Utilities Operational improvements, including the City’s aging Water Plant. One of the components presented was to secure the funding for these improvements. In this regard, the City’s consultant, Mr. Fred Bloetscher, gave a presentation to the City Commission on the City’s intent to apply for funding the City’s Water Plant Capital Improvement Project through the State Revolving Fund (SRF).

One of the basic requirements to secure the SRF fund is to hold a local public hearing on the Facilities Plan. At tonight’s City Commission meeting, after a brief presentation, this public hearing will be conducted to meet this requirement.  Tonight’s public hearing was advertised two times in the Sun-Sentinel (February 24, 2008 and March 22, 2008).

Should the Commission have any questions or concerns on this issue, please feel free to contact Mike Shields.
