Funding for Eligible Disaster Relief Activities – Hurricane Wilma

BRW-014W

Update – January 9, 2007

As you may recall, on February 14, 2006, the Water Control District authorized and directed the proper officers of the City of North Lauderdale and the North Lauderdale Water Control District (District) to take all steps necessary to submit an agreement and all necessary application forms to the National Resources Conservation Service for reimbursement of all eligible disaster relief activities in an amount appropriate to recover the maximum costs allowable.  Subsequently, the Commission approved two amendments to the original agreement extending the term of the agreement to December 31, 2006 (listed below).

In order to maximize the District’s reimbursement for in-kind technical services for this project, staff is requesting another amendment tonight which will increase the funding percentages for in-kinds services from 7.5% to 9%. Please be advised that all other provisions of the Original Agreement remain unchanged.

The City Attorney has previously reviewed the agreement and associated application forms and has approved them to legal form.
