Service Refuse services the North Lauderdale area for garbage collection. Resident's
need to place all items for collection neatly at the curbside by 7 a.m. on the
day of pickup. Loose items must be containerized in garbage cans or tied plastic
bags, and weigh less than 40 pounds each. Trimmings, wood tree branches, carpet,
etc. must be tied in bundles not to exceed four feet in any direction and 40 pounds
in weight. | | Bulk Trash Collection
| Bulk items are household items such as couches, chairs,
mattresses, tables, appliances, carpeting, large tree limbs, lumber, etc. Trimmings,
tree branches, lumber, carpet and metal poles must be cut into sections not to
exceed 4 feet and tied into bundles of 40 lbs or less. Bulk trash collection
is collected on scheduled garbage days. For bulk pick-ups in the
multi-family developments such as townhomes and condominiums bulk pickup is as
follows:
Call the City of North Lauderdale Public Works department
Place bulk items next to the dumpster enclosure
Items will be picked up within 48 hours
Items that will not be accepted are appliances containing freon and hazardous

| All doors MUST be removed before the appliance can be picked up. Before
putting out appliances containing refrigerant fluid (freon) such as refrigerators/freezers
and air conditioners, arrangements must be made with All Service. All Service
will charge a $25.00 fee for removing the freon from the appliance. Please call
All Service at 954- 583-1830 to make these arrangements. The appliance MUST be
removed from the city right-of-way until disposal arrangements have been made. |
| Recycling | | Acceptable
items for collection include newspapers, corrugated cardboard, metal cans, brown
green or uncolored glass containers, plastic containers 1, 2, and 3, milk and
juice cartons. All items other than corrugated cardboard can be mixed in the bins.
Plastic bottles must be flattened and lids removed. If newspaper is placed out
on a rainy day use a garbage can lid or protective cover. Wet newspaper will not
be collected. Please note that bins can be placed out even if they are half full. |
| Hazardous Waste / Special Waste |
Hazardous waste materials require special processing before disposal.
These items include paint thinners, paint strippers, solvents, pesticides, insecticides,
fertilizer, automotive fluids, oven and drain cleaners, etc. Special waste consists
of tires, paint, batteries, and used motor oil. These items can be taken on Saturdays
from 8a.m. – 4p.m. to: North Trash Transfer
