Public Safety Director
The Public Safety Director is responsible for administrative and operation of the Fire Rescue Department. He reviews work through the observation of the results obtained and through personal consultation with the Fire Chief.
Fire Chief
Oversees all departmental functions, is Chief Fire Officer and reports directly to the Public Safety Director. Deals with all administrative duties necessary for the entire fire department and is Chief EMS Officer, which oversees all emergency medical services including equipment, training, and support. The Fire Chief serves as the department’s Infection Control Officer and liaison to the medical director.

The duties of the Fire Chief include:
The overall command responsibilities at fires and natural disasters within the City
Initiates the investigation of all major or suspicious fires
Implementation and enforcement of rules and regulations and procedures for the efficient operation of the department
Prepares employee evaluations for review
Prepares the annual budget, as well as recommending the purchase of equipment, tools and apparatus needed for the efficient operation of the department
Directs the inspections of buildings, commercial establishments, City Departments, and other properties for fire hazards and safety regulations
Supervises the in-service training operations
Division Chief Station 44
Oversees all station duties and operations at Station 44 including day-to-day activities, scheduling, and affairs. Station 44 Chief reports directly to the Fire Chief. The Chief at Station 44 is the department’s fire marshal and chief fire inspector.  He oversees the fire prevention and education department, vehicles and communications and is in charge of department uniforms.
Division Chief Station 34
Oversees all station duties and operations at Station 34 including day-to-day activities, scheduling and affairs. Station 34 Chief reports directly to the Fire Chief.  The Chief at Station 34 is the department’s fire training officer and recruit training officer, maintains all fire certifications for the department and oversee all fire equipment and protective equipment for all manpower.
Medical Director
The Medical Director is a contract position entered into by the City of North Lauderdale and a competent licensed Florida physician to oversee all medical applications done by the Fire Rescue Department. He works in close conjunction with the Fire Chief to maintain an efficient operation of medical activities within the Fire Rescue Department. The Medical Director reports directly to the Fire Chief.

The duties of the Medical Director include:
Responsible for any certification, advice or participation in training exercises
Develops protocols and revises them as needed
Establishes routine monthly meetings with shift personnel for the purpose of education and quality review
Establishes a quality assurance program with the Division Chiefs which includes the establishment of a methodology for quality improvement
Develops security measures that provide for the handling of medications, fluids and controlled substances
Assumes direct responsibility for the use of automatic and semi-automatic defibrillators, esophageal intubation, intravenous lines and patient transports
Ensures that all EMT's and paramedics are trained in the use of the trauma scorecard methodologies
Develops and revises, when necessary, the Trauma Transport Protocols
Participates as a crew member on a City vehicle for a minimum of 10 hours per year and provides continuing education for pre hospital care
Executive Secretary
The Executive Secretary is under the direct supervision of the Fire Chief. This is a secretarial and clerical position requiring skills in handling sensitive situations, confidential matters, tight schedules, inflexible deadlines and public contact. The employee works independently in accomplishing assigned tasks.  Supervision is received for difficult problems and employee may exercise supervision over employees of lesser grade.

The duties of the Executive Secretary include:
Maintains records such as incident reports, CPR classes, blood pressure records, billing records, inspection records
Prepares requisitions, blanket purchase orders, obtains prices for purchasing and tracts and maintains purchase orders
Maintains payroll records and prepares timecards
Screens all incoming calls and schedules appointments and tours
Prepares monthly reports
Schedules public education classes
Schedules Certificate of Occupancy fire inspections
Takes and transcribes dictation
Responsible for maintaining fire incident reports and medical reports
Maintains SOP’s for the Fire Rescue Department
