Explorer Program – Must be 14 to 18 years of age with a G.P.A. of at least 2.0. Also, have a clean criminal background. Participants, who are interested in Law Enforcement, train in basic law enforcement techniques via class room settings and actual ride-alongs with Deputies. Participants work hand in hand with Deputies and assist in the community policing philosophy. Participants have the opportunity to attend boot camps, state convention, and other related programs involving law enforcement programs. This program is a great way to learn about law enforcement and find out if you are interested in pursing a career as a police officer.

Elder Link – This program is a referral program in which Deputies, when encountering senior citizens (age 60 and above), during their day to day duties, observe a senior who may be in need of special assistance such as meal delivery, transportation to a doctor, minor home repairs, housekeeping assistance, personal care, legal assistance, or mental health counseling, the Deputy completes a form which is then forwarded to a company called Senior Connections. Senior Connections will then contact the senior in question and arrange the assistance they need. This is usually done within 24 hours of the Deputy contact.

Home and Business Security Surveys – Specially trained Deputies offer FREE residential and business security surveys to lesson the chance of a break-in (burglary). A Deputy will respond out to your home or business and recommend important tips on door/window locks, alarm systems, lighting, landscaping, and other important areas that may help prevent you from becoming a victim to a burglary and/or robbery.

Are You OK” Program – On a daily basis, this unique program, on a set time you choose, an automotive computerized voice will call your home telephone to see if you “Are OK?”  If you do not pick up the phone and answer, a Deputy will respond out to your residence to personally check on your welfare. This program is good for seniors, disabled persons, shut-ins, and anyone who needs to be checked on a regular basis.
