Subject: Information Technology Surplus Equipment

As you may recall, every year the Information Technology Division declares certain equipment surplus. This year, the IT staff has prepared a list of equipment to be declared surplus, which will be disposed of at a later date per City Codes. This surplus equipment comes from workstation and system replacements and upgrades. Warranty for most of this equipment cannot be extended beyond four years and this equipment is four years old or older, has exceeded its useful lifespan and is no longer needed.

The surplus list consists of eleven (11) PC’s, thirteen (13) Laptops, thirteen (13) Servers, thirteen (13) Printers, and seven (7) miscellaneous devices from the Information Technology/Finance inventory. A detailed list of this equipment is included in Section 1 of the attached resolution.

Recommendation:

City Administration recommends Commission’s consideration and approval of the attached resolution authorizing the surplus of eleven (11) PC’s, thirteen (13) Laptops, thirteen (13) Servers, thirteen (13) Printers, and seven (7) miscellaneous devices from the Information Technology/Finance inventory.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF NORTH LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE SURPLUS OF ELEVEN (11) PC’S, THIRTEEN (13) LAPTOPS, THIRTEEN (13) SERVERS, THIRTEEN (13) PRINTERS, AND SEVEN (7) MISCELLANEOUS DEVICES FROM THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY/FINANCE INVENTORY AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of North Lauderdale, Florida, desires to declare certain property as surplus to the needs of the City as recommended by the City Manager due to the condition of said property.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF NORTH LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA:
