Commissioner
Frankel was born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., before making North Lauderdale
his home in 1975.
Frankel has served as an elected official,
in the City of North Lauderdale, for the past 18 years. He has served three terms
as Mayor, three terms as Vice Mayor, as a Councilman and now Commissioner of District
A. Upon winning his first election in 1992, Frankel’s goal was to turn this
part-time job in to a full-time commitment as a result of serving all the residents
of North Lauderdale. He continues his philosophy of working as a full-time public
servant today. Commissioner Frankel is a member of the
Florida League of Cities, Broward League of Cities and the Broward Metropolitan
Planning Organization. He has also been a member of the United States Junior Chamber
(Jaycees). Frankel received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting
and Business Administration from the New York Institute of Technology, Manhattan
