Mayor
Jack Brady is a retired teacher who now serves as a
full-time Mayor. He
is a graduate of Murray State
University in Kentucky
where he received a Bachelors of Science Degree and he received
a Master's Degree in guidance and counseling from Florida Atlantic
University.
He served four years in the United States Navy
in the Security Division Aviation Vietnam era. Mayor Brady is married to Pat and has two children
and one grandson.
He
now serves as the first City-wide elected Mayor, but has been
on the North Lauderdale City Commission in District B since
1988. He served four terms as mayor and four times
as Vice Mayor. He serves
on the Florida League of Cities Intergovernmental Relations
Committee, the Broward County League of Cities Educational
and Children's Committee, a Board Member of the Broward County
Sickle Cell, a Board Member of the North Lauderdale Boys and
Girls Club, a former Board Member of the North Lauderdale
Charter High School, a former Board Member of the North Broward
Chamber of Commerce, and a Board Member of the Muscular Dystrophy
Association. His community
and charity involvement includes Events Coordinator for Act
of Kindness, Inc.; Master Mason Lodge #373, Scottish Rite,
Lauderdale Lakes Moose Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars, North
Lauderdale Baseball League since 1972, Joe DiMaggio's Children's
Hospital and 3rd Vice President of the Area Agency
on Aging. Mayor Brady
enjoys dealing with people and says that is what drew him
into public service. His goal is to serve all the residents of North Lauderdale for a better
community for everyone. Mayor
Brady ran unopposed in the March 2005 election and will serve
a 4 year term. |
