Born May 12, 1951 in Brooklyn, New York to parents Vivian and Tom Cangemi. Attended William E. Grady Vocational Technical High School and Staten Island Community College. Also had 15 years continuous training at the TTC Governmental Training Center in Normal Oklahoma.

Married to Marie for 22 years. We have four children; Deirdra (Brian), Darin (Lydia), Michael and Christopher. Two grandchildren - Anthony and Adriana.

My employment history has been diverse. I've worked the last 17 years as an automotive technician for the United States Post Office.

Community involvement: I have been actively involved with the North Lauderdale Academy High School. As a member of the PTSO, I've attended monthly meetings. I did a door to door campaign to get a petition signed for speed humps in our community, and door to door again to obtain signatures for rezoning area schools and presented the petition to the Broward County School Board Superintendent. Team Parent for the Northwest Broward Raiders Football League. I support North Lauderdale baseball, soccer, basketball and cricket. Involved in fund raisers for the Boys' and Girls' Club; Sickle Cell of Broward County and Area Agency on Aging.
