Public Works Administration provides management of all divisions and functions of the Department including Engineering, Streets, Traffic, Transit, Sewer Utility, Parking Utility, Solid Waste, Custodial and Maintenance Services, Fleet Operations and Right-of-Way acquisition.
The mission of the Public Works Department is to effectively maintain and develop public infrastructure and facilities, and to provide services to the public to achieve common social, economic, and environmental desires. Public Works aims to preserve and enhance the city for future generations.
Duties include purchasing for the department, budget preparation, capital budget preparation and management, consulting engineering contract management, backflow prevention program, sanitary sewer rehabilitation program, pump station maintenance contract, garbage and recycling contract maintenance, and city project contract management.
