Water Plant Operations
The water plant is responsible for the production of potable water for use by residents and commercial areas withing the City. During a course of a year, the water plant produces 1.2 billion gallons of water. The water the plant produces meets or exceeds federal and state drinking water requirements.
The water plant is 24/7 facility. Therefore, the employees of this division not only operate the plant, but they also perform repairs and preventative maintenance at the plant.
Preventive maintenance includes valve exercising, painting, lawn maintenance and pump maintenance. The Water Plant Division also takes water samples and tests them to make sure the City's water is within the mandated guidelines.
