Residential Garbage, Recycling and Bulk Collection

Residents will need to place their garbage and recycling curbside by 7 a.m. on their respective collection days. All items, other than bulk items, must fit inside the provided 96-gallon cart. Carts must be placed facing out about 5-feet from the curb. Do not place carts too close to vehicles, mail boxes, utility poles or fencing hindering the trucks ability to lift and dispose of its contents.

Bulk Trash Collection

Bulk trash collection will now be done once per week. Bulk collection will take place on a residents second collection day of the week. (Example: If a resident's current collection days are Monday and Thursday, recycling will be collected on Monday and bulk items will be collected Thursday.)

Bulk items can include couches, chairs, mattresses, tables, appliances, furniture and yard waste.

Carpeting, large tree limbs, lumber, tree branches, metal poles, large cardbopard boxes etc., must be cut into sections not to exceed 5 feet or 40 pounds and must be bundled or tied.

Arrangements to pick up appliances must be coordinated with Waste Pro. Doors MUST be removed from the appliances before the appliance can picked up. For refridgerator disposal, the compressor located at the rear of the unit MUST be removed. Also, any household appliance containing Freon (chlorofluorocarbons) must be certified FREE of Freon in order to be picked up at no cost. Units not certified and documented as purged of Freon gas can be picked up for a $25 fee. As per federal law, Waste Pro incurs a $25 disposal fee for any units that are not purged of their Freon gas.

Absolutley no construction and demolition materials will be picked up. Construction materials such as roofing material, tile, concrete, bricks, stones, automotive body parts, engines, transmissions, batteries, ties, used oil, paint, insecticides, chemicals and hazardous waste will not be collected.

Email messages are covered under Chapter 119 and are thus subject to public records disclosure. All email messages sent and received are captured by our server and retained as public records. Under Florida law, email addresses are public records. If you do not want your email address released in response to a public records request, do not send electronic mail to the City of North Lauderdale. Instead contact us by phone or in writing.
