Holiday Ornament Decorating Contest - North Lauderdale Parks and Recreation Department is offering a free ornament crafting / creative decorating contest for ages 5-7, 8-10, 11-14, 15-17, 18 to 54 and seniors 55 & older. This contest is open to both residents of North Lauderdale and non-residents. Prizes will be awarded to the 1st , 2nd, and 3rd place winners of each division.
All entries must be submitted by Friday December 7th to the Teen Recreation Center. Winners will be announced at the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and the ornaments will be displayed on the Holiday Tree. Ornaments must be based on the holiday season and once submitted become the property of the City of North Lauderdale.

Sundaes with Santa
On Thursday, December 13th from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at the Teen Recreation Center. Ice cream, pictures with Santa, fun and games. Cost of this event is $5 or a new unwrapped toy.
Breakfast with Santa
On Saturday, December 15th from 8:00am to 10:00am at the Teen Recreation Center. Cost of this event is $5 or a new unwarpped toy.
Santa CruiseSunday, December 23rd. Event starts at 5:15pm. Santa will be escorted around town, so come outside and say Hello when you hear the holiday music.

Hampton Pines Park Closed for Event Set-Up
The North Lauderdale Parks & Recreation Dept will be closing Hampton Pines Park from Monday, October 15 thru Friday November 2nd for set-up for the City's annual Haunted Hamptons Halloween Event. The park will reopen on Saturday November 3rd, 2007. For additional information please call 954-724-7061.

Haunted Hamptons Advance Ticket Sale
The Parks & Recreation Dept. will be selling advanced tickets for our Haunted Hamptons Haunted Trail. Cost of advanced ticket is $5 per person. Event will be held on Friday October 26 and Saturday October 27, from 7pm to 9pm. Advance ticket holders move to the front of the line at this event. Tickets go on sale Monday October 1st (amount is limited so buy early). Tickets available at the Teen Recreation Center from 9am to 9pm Monday thru Friday, and at Pompano Park from 5pm to 9pm Monday thru Friday. For additional information please call 954-724-7061..

Pumpkin Carving Contest
Join us on Tuesday October 16, 2007 for a parent and child pumpkin carving contest sponsored by our Parks & Recreation Department. Contest will take place at 6:30pm and it will be held at our Teen Recreation Center as well as at Pompano Park. Contest is open to both residents and non-residents at no cost. There will be prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place groups. Registration open until Friday October 12th. Each group consists of one adult and one child. Playstation 3 Madden 08 Tournament
Thursday, October 4, 2007. Event is open to the following ages and tournament times are as follows: Ages 10-13 will play from 6-7pm, ages 14-17 will play from 7-8pm, ages 18 & up will play from 8-9pm. Tournament will take place at the Pompano Park Recreation Center located at 4001 Bailey Road. Registration is open at both our Teen Recreation Center and at Pompano Park. Teens of Tomorrow Club (T.O.T.)
This is a supervised club for children ages 10 and 11 that runs thru the months of October to May, starting Friday October 5, 2007. The Club will meet on Friday nights from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Participants will engage in group activities both in-site and off-site. Monthly fee is $20 and it is due at the beginning of each month. There is also a $10 registration fee. Upcoming Senior Trips
On Tuesday October 16, 2007; our Parks & Recreation Dept. is offering a senior trip to the Seminole Hard Rock Casino. Cost is $10 for residents and $15 for non-residents, cost includes a $5 lunch coupon and a $10 free play ticket for the casino. Deadline for registration is Monday October 15. Registration open now, fees expected at time of registration.

On Tuesday November 13, 2007; another senior trip is being offered to the Mardi Gras Gaming Casino. Cost for this trip is $10 for residents and $15 for non-residents, cost includes $7.50 lunch coupon and $10 free play ticket for the casino. Deadline for registration for this trip is Friday October 26.

Drop In After School Program
Starting Tuesday September 4th 2007; our Parks & Recreation Dept. is offering an after school program from 1:45pm to 6:00pm at the Teen Center. Program is open to all children between 2nd and 8th grades. This program is NOT fully supervised, children will be able to come and go with no required check in or check out. Kenpo Karate Classes
Our Parks & Recreation Department is offering Kenpo Karate Classes on Monday's and Wednesday's at Jerry Resnick Aquatic Center Classroom. Cost is $40 per month and they are continuous. Sensei Nuwar Instructor. Advanced participants will meet from 5:30pm to 6:30pm, Beginner participants will meet from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. Kids Craft Corner - The Parks & Recreation Department is offering an arts & crafts program on Thursdays at both Pompano Park and at our Teen Center from 6:30pm to 7:30pm to learn in a fun way how to design different arts and crafts. Registration is on-going, you can register your child up to the Wednesday before each session. Cost is $3 per session or $10 for 4 weeks. Refreshments will be served.
